October 24 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
In 2016, nearly 100,000 central Iowans were food insecure and of those, more than 28,000 were hungry. There are people living in central Iowa—Dallas, Polk, and Warren counties—who are food insecure, and others, who are hungry, and don’t know where their next meal is going to come from.
The summit aims to increase awareness of food insecurity in central Iowa through a shared understanding of what it means to be food insecure and hungry, and identify solutions to help those who struggle with hunger on a day-to-day basis.
