Planting Seeds and Harvesting Ideas

May 26, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Work being done at the intersection of health and planning is important to the residents and communities in our state. In addition to a presentation on Planning Healthy Iowa Communities, share your ideas about how our communities could encourage physical activity, improve nutrition and enhance the built and natural environment.

Your input is valuable and will help focus efforts on building collaborative efforts that fill gaps and serve needs in communities across the state.

Online registration for these sessions is requested at: https://www.iowapha.org/Events

Planning Healthy Iowa Communities is a collaborative effort led by the American Planning Association Iowa Chapter and the Iowa Public Health Association with grant funding from the American Planning Association Planners4Health ( www.plan4health.us ) initiative. The Task Force represents APA Iowa, IPHA, Iowa Environmental Health Association, Iowa State Extension and Outreach, Iowa Cancer Consortium, Southwest Iowa Planning Council and the Northeast Iowa Resource Conservation & Development, Inc. The Task Force hasĀ  been challenged by the leadership of APA Iowa and IPHA to develop a strategic plan that builds a collaborative effort to create a plan for working across the state of Iowa to assist communities in improving physical activity, nutrition and the built and natural environment.
