Urban Farming: Greens & Farm Store Sales
November 10 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
As part of the Practical Farmers 2019 Field Days, join us for an afternoon at Dogpatch Urban Gardens.
In only a few years, Jenny has created a vibrant urban farm and farm stand with help from family and friends. Join Jenny for a tour of the farm’s garden beds and infrastructure, including the packing shed, farm store and high tunnel. She’ll share tips for branding, sales and marketing and producing high-quality greens and salad vegetables.

Dogpatch Urban Gardens is situated on 1 acre of land in a residential area, with roughly a quarter-acre under cultivation. Jenny has been operating the farm since 2016, and specializes in growing annual vegetable crops, particularly salad greens. All crops are grown without synthetic chemicals. The business is diversified with multiple ways for the community to support the farm, including salad subscriptions, farm dinners, restaurant sales and a farm stand – a seasonal, on-site store that sells Dogpatch Urban Gardens products, as well as other items from growers across Iowa.
