Description: My husband, Eugene and I started our venture in 2006. We purchased a 30 acre farm near State Center, Iowa. I am the oldest of 4 girls and grew up on a feeder cattle and row crop farm and my husband was a city boy who always wanted to get out of town.

I work on the farm full time and my husband does underground construction work throughout the midwest. Eugene is usually gone overnight 3-5 days a week during the spring, summer and fall season. So he is my “Weekend Facility Manager” and I take care of the animals and the many other aspects of the farm.

All of our meat cuts are pasture raised without hormones or antibiotics. Our number one goal is to produce healthy animals that will provide our customers with meat that tastes like it’s supposed to!

PLEASE NOTE: We are starting to add some of our beef cuts. We are hand raising holstein dairy calves from a local dairy. Our beef has been selling VERY well at the Des Moines Farmers’ Market this summer. Our steers take a full year to raise. We DO NOT use antibiotics or growth hormones and the animals are on pasture, alfalfa hay and a protein supplement from the local feed store. If you have never had holstein beef – give us a try…you will be surprised at the great flavor and tenderness. Holsteins are kind of a secret in the beef industry!

We truely love what we do and even when it’s 40 below outside we still know we are living our dream!

Farm Practices: All of our animals are raised free range with no antibiotics or hormones. Our ducks, turkeys and chickens are allowed to graze the entire farm daily and have safe buildings to roost in at night.

Our goats are on rotational grazing and dairy quality hay, and have an all natural protein lick tub as a dietary supplement and given a yearly immunization.

Our hogs are raised outside and are not given any antibiotics or hormones, they are fed grain daily, but during the warmer months, they roam the pasture and graze on grasses. In the winter time, they also eat the hay from our pasture – I think it gives them their “green” fix.

Smoked Ham: Cured wtih water, salt, sugar, sodium nitrite, maple syrup

Bacon: Cured with salt, sugar, maple syrup, sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrite

Brats: pork, water, corn syrup solids, salt, mustard, monosodium glutamate, spices, collagen casing
Smoked Cured Turkey Leg: water, salt, sugar, maple syrup, sodium nitrite

Smoked Turkey: water, salt, sugar, maple syrup, sodium nitrite
Smoked Duck: water, salt, sugar, maple syrup, sodium nitrite

Goat Sticks: goat, pork, hot pepper cheese(cultured milk, water, skim milk, jalapeno peppers, red bell peppers, cream, salt, sorbic acid, powdered cullulose, potassium sorbate and natamycid) water, salt, corn syrup solids, citric acid, sodium nitrite, sodium citrate in collagen casing.
Beef Jerky: Water, salt, spice, sugar, garlic powder, sodium nitrite, flavorings.

Cured (Dried) Beef: water, salt, maple syrup, sodium nitrite.
Beef Sticks: beef, water, salt, corn syrup solids, citric acid, cotton seed oil, dextrose, spices, monosodium glutimate, paprika, garlic powder, collagen casing.

Additional Information: All of our meat products are processed at a state inspected facility. Our goats, beef and hogs are processed at State Center Locker in State Center, Iowa and our poultry are all processed at B&B Poultry Processing in Hospers, Iowa.
