Now in it’s 8th week, Operation: Fresh Produce Drop continues to evolve and grow. This week we had our biggest distribution yet! We distributed 27,520 pounds of food to 21 community organizations. Thanks to a group of 10 dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to move thousands of boxes of food.

“It is truly remarkable what humans are capable of when they work together for the greater good,” said Steven Williams, Operations Manager at EGDM. “The power we have as a community together is unstoppable and this week’s produce drop proved it.”

None of this can be done without the incredible partner organizations who work day after to to distribute this food to our neighbors in need.

“The sheer joy on peoples faces when they saw that we had milk, butter, yogurts, broccoli,” said Des Moines Refugee Support. “We only handed out half of our stuff, we are doing the other half on Sunday. Best food day yet!”
